The Satyricon, by Petronius, in French translation with original lithographs by Emile Othon Friesz.  Friesz (1879-1949) was a French post-Impressionist painter.  His later works, such as the lithographs here, are marked by a sober palette and solidity of form.

A limited edition of 218 copies, produced on various types of paper.  This is copy 63.  Edited by Daniel Sickles and Rene Gas, it was printed in Paris on the presses of Fequet and Baudier.  The lithograph illustrations were pulled on the hand presses of E. and J. Desjobert.
