This stunning volume presents the virtual reconstruction of one of the most influential architectural works of the 16th century in Italy. Francesco Colonna's idea of the ideal garden, illustrated in his Hypnerotomachia Poliphili, is the most famous incunabulum printed by Aldo Manuzio in Venice in 1499. It also is considered among Renaissance books to have had great influence in architectural choices, but mostly symbolic and ideological, of the sixteenth century garden. The original text and illustrations are preserved with the full-color virtual reconstructions.

Lavishly illustrated with full-color virtual reconstructions, as well as original B&W illustrations and text.
