"From the collaboration between Franco Curletto, an eclectic hair stylist of international renown, and Giovanni Gastel, a refined interpreter of fashion photography, the Genesis in space artistic project is born, a gallery of portraits that recounts a cycle of creations by the Turin designer: faces and hairstyles of alien creatures, like spills from a second big bang, inhabitants of a posthuman universe immortalized in a still and rarefied atmosphere. It is a dialogue, between Gastel and Curletto, between two parallel paths that come together in a common universe made up of a constant creative and aesthetic research and of a cutting-edge technical experimentation." [from Press Release] New attention was brought to the project when it was included in the Milan launch of the Paratissima Art Fair.
This intriguing book is a collection of photographs and negatives featuring portraits of more or less human figures. Presenting us with a human figure in various disguises, it engages a reflection on the true nature of reality, and the boundaries between reality and the imaginary, between the real and the improbable.
Text in Italian. Illustrated throughout with shiny copper, silver and red photographs. One illustration has yellow tissue guard. A transparent mask is glued on board facing an illustration.
