Book has been expertly and professionally rebound in period paper, made in the 18th century. Volume is half-bound in leather with a striking marble-swirl design on boards. Rounded spine features red title label with gilt lettering and lines. Book is arranged as facing pages with plates on left and poetry on right.

Here is a charming tribute to love, in a collection of poems dedicated "to the Ladies." Splendidly illustrated, the volume joins the beautiful poetry--in four languages--to visual delight as images of little cupids in all imaginable settings and situations personify love attending various characters. A lovely work, emblematic of the poetic verse and art of the 18th century.

Features engravings throughout. Poems are in English, Latin, French and Italian.
