DESCRIPTION:

This rare book is full of B&W photos and line drawings of architectural elements developed in Japan by the Czech American architect Antonin Raymond (1888-1976). He was known for exploring traditional Japanese building techniques combined with the latest In American building innovations. This book was published after breaking free of his early influences of Frank Lloyd Wright and Le Corbusier. Originally published in 1938 by the International Architectural Association in Tokyo, this 2nd edition was recreated, after the original plates in Japan were destroyed in the bombing.

  • Water stain at gutter of last endleaf is visible through last couple pages (staring pg 112). Otherwise clean and clear.
