Very scarce 1888 publication. Subtitle continues: "a practical book by a practical man containing full and reliable directions for choosing a home, erecting every description of houses and out-buildings, painting, glazing etc; together with invaluable suggestions and information on domestic economy, general farming, fancy gardening, fruit raising, breeding and management of horses, cattle, sheep, swine, poultry." Text is accompanied by 13 full page engravings. 728 pages with index. 6.25" by 9".

Hardback is overall in VERY GOOD condition.

• Elaborately illustrated brown cloth covers, accented with a gilt emblem, are mostly clean though do show signs of light wear and again such as darkening, scuffing and wrinkling to the rear. 
• Corners are pushed and mildly frayed. 
• Spine has embossed and inked lettering with additional design detail and has pushed, lightly split ends. 
• Shoulders are lightly worn. 
• Binding is firm. 
• Decorated endpapers are very clean with a crack along the rear hinge while the remaining endpapers are age-toned and foxed. 
• Rear endpage has writing in pencil to the top right corner. 
• Frontispiece is intact and lightly foxed. 
• Illustrations are clean. 
• Interior is gently age-toned with occasional foxing. 
• Inside pages are free of writing and intentional marks.
• Text block edges are darkened and lightly stained. 
• Book may exhibit additional minor signs of age or wear.
